Senior Chemistry Analyst – (Water Testing Laboratory)

Little Island, Cork | €40,000–€45,000 | Full-Time | Onsite

We are a growing laboratory based in Little Island and are looking for a Senior Chemistry Analyst to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years’ laboratory experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the chemistry laboratory, carrying out routine testing, supporting lab operations, and contributing to a small, collaborative team.

Our chemistry laboratory focuses primarily on water testing, and the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of analytical techniques and laboratory systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Performing routine analytical chemistry testing (primarily water samples)

Operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation (including ICP-MS)

Recording and managing data using LIMS

Supporting day-to-day laboratory operations and troubleshooting

Assisting with method verification and routine quality checks

Supporting documentation, SOPs, and general lab compliance activities

Working collaboratively with the wider lab team to meet turnaround times

Who This Role Suits

This role is ideal for someone who:

Has 2–3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment

Has a strong foundation in analytical chemistry

Is comfortable working with routine testing and lab systems

Has experience or exposure to water or environmental testing (desirable)

Is familiar with LIMS and good laboratory documentation practices

Is eager to learn, develop, and take on more responsibility over time

Enjoys working in a hands-on, team-focused environment

Requirements

Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline

2–3 years’ relevant laboratory experience

Desirable Experience

Experience with ICP-MS

Exposure to water or environmental testing

Familiarity with ISO 17025 or similar lab standards

Any exposure to method validation/verification

Job Type: Full-time

Ability to commute/relocate:

Cork, County Cork: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

100% (preferred)
