Accounts Assistant – Job Advertisement

We Are Hiring

Are you an organised, detail‑driven finance professional looking to join a fast‑paced and dynamic accounts team?
We are seeking a Accounts Assistant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations of our growing business.
As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a central role across our full financial accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, journals, and payments.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing and query resolution.
Support month‑end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare and file tax compliance requirements including VAT, Corporate Tax, Income Tax, and PAYE.
Ensure compliance with Revenue, Companies Registration Office (CRO), and other regulatory deadlines.
Assist with preparation of monthly Management Accounts, financial reporting packs, and KPIs.
Support year‑end accounts and audit preparation, including liaison with external auditors.
Collaborate with suppliers, customers, banks, and third‑party service providers.
Ensure strong compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
Assist with payroll processing, staff expense management, and related reconciliations.

Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with industry experience preferred but not essential , strong experienced candidates will also be considered.
Experience with Sage or similar accounting systems.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with Irish tax and regulatory requirements.
Advanced Excel competency, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small, supportive finance team.
