Full job description

Job Summary:

To operate and monitor bakery production machinery to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of high-quality product.
The role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

Comply with all safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure your manager is informed of all safety hazards of which you become aware, so remedial action can be taken.
Wearing and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and clothing.
Accepting responsibility for the safety of ourselves, other employees and all other people affected by our service. Ensure that your activities do not put people at risk.
Attend regular and quality training to stay informed of best practices and regulatory requirements.
Comply with the law and any procedures, policies designed to ensure a safe place of work including drug and alcohol policies.

Quality

Adhere to the company’s quality standards by inspecting materials and products at various stages of production.
Report any quality issues or defects to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to support quality and safety.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor complex bakery machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Ensure consistent product quality by following recipes, specifications, and quality control standards.
Accurately complete production documentation and report any issues or deviations.
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production targets.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
Participate in training and development activities to build skills and knowledge.

Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and operate complex machinery (training provided).
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in following procedures and identifying issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is advantageous but not essential.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Physically fit and able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
