If you trained outside of the Republic of Ireland, you must already possess:
- Official approval via the CRU's Electrical Recognition Process for International Qualifications (a standard QQI NARIC comparability statement is not sufficient).
- An active Qualified Certifier (QC) Number registered with Safe Electric, or formal confirmation that you are immediately eligible to obtain one.
- Proof of completing Irish Wiring Rules training (to I.S. 10101:2020 standards).
- A valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificate.
Training provided
This is a senior electrician role, not an apprenticeship. However, if this is your first job in the solar industry, we will provide comprehensive training on our specific solar PV systems, inverters, and battery storage units. You bring the electrical expertise and domestic experience, and we will teach you the solar specifics.
If you don't already have your Electrical Testing and Verification qualification (QC), then we will pay for you to do this and become a Qualified Certifier. This is a great qualification to have and will help you to progress in your career.
Does it matter if I have no experience in Solar?
Not necessarily. You already have the electrical expertise. If you're motivated to learn, we can provide the training you will need to transfer your knowledge and skills to solar PV Installations.
How does a solar installation work?
Initial enquiry
When a customer contacts us, we do an initial quote with details of the size of the system. We use our specialised software to look up the property on Google Maps and then design the most appropriate system to suit their circumstances and needs. We take into account the direction the property is facing, the pitch and type of roof, the client's current annual consumption, and the times they are most likely to consume the most.
Site survey
Once the initial system design is approved, our head engineer then visits the site to conduct a complete survey of the property. He inspects, measures and ensures everything on the original quote will work and notes any modifications needed. This is to ensure that when you turn up, you have everything you need to complete the job and there are no surprises.
Final design
Once this is complete, a final system design is drawn up and distributed to the team, including you, with full details of exactly what is required.
Scheduling
Once we confirm the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, we agree an installation date with the client.
Panel installation
Then the Dublin team roofer will complete the first part of the project by installing the solar panels on the roof.
Electrical work
Once that is complete, you and the other Dublin-team electrician will complete the electrical part of the project and bring the system into commission.
Working for PureVolt Solar - Is this job right for you?
We're a small and friendly team who have each other's backs. We're proud of our workplace culture, and we're looking for people who can help us to build it further. Before we add anyone to our team, we always want to be sure that they share our mindset when it comes to efficiency, hard work and doing what's right for the customer.
An established, SEAI-registered company
PureVolt Solar is a fully certified, SEAI-registered solar PV installation company. We pride ourselves on executing safe, compliant, and highly efficient renewable energy systems across Ireland. When you join us, you are joining an authoritative, trusted entity in the Irish green energy sector.
Who you're working with
Our office team is a mix of solar specialists on the one hand, and marketing / tech nerds on the other. Our installers are the best in the business — we only work with people who meet our high standards. The marketing guys are the reason we usually have more enquiries than we can install. The tech nerds are the reason our installers never show up to a job with the wrong parts.
As well as being the solar installer, you will also be the face of PureVolt while you are at the customer's house. Whenever we get a five-star review, it will be in large part because you maintained PureVolt's standards of tidiness, workmanship and good communication. This is what we're about.
We believe in solar
Our people really care about what we do here. We want to help Ireland go green, and we want to help people to make the right decisions for themselves when it comes to reducing their energy bills. If you believe in solar and you care about how it benefits both the customer and the environment, we would really love to speak with you.
We're giving away all of our profits to good causes
PureVolt was founded to make a difference, not to make a profit. That's why we're giving away all of our profits to good causes in Ireland — in the form of free solar panels. More solar panels on rooftops means less carbon emissions (this is why we exist). And if the people and organisations under those roofs are doing good for their community, well that's even better! If you know a charity who would benefit from free clean energy, please tell them about our free solar for good causes scheme.
Would you like to learn more about what it is like to work for PureVolt Solar?
If you think you might be interested in applying for this role, but would like to know what it is like to work for us, then please let us know. We will set things up for you to speak with one of our current employees and you can ask them anything you want, in complete confidentiality.
Hours and Location
Location: Dublin area & East of Ireland (Leinster). There will be some travel to sites elsewhere but you will be joining a team which is focused on Dublin and East Coast installations.
Full-time role. Monday to Friday (Flexitime) - 39 hours
Have any questions?
