Location: Dublin / Greater Dublin (with regional travel as required)

About BlueBuild Energy
BlueBuild Energy is an established retrofit contractor delivering deep energy upgrades to homes across the Republic of Ireland. We are an SEAI-registered business with significant government-backed contracts secured and a strong, growing pipeline of works — giving the right candidate genuine long-term stability and the platform to grow with us.
Unlike many in our sector, we deliver retrofit as a fully integrated business: plumbing and heat pump installation are run by our own established in-house teams, not subcontracted out. The incoming electrician will plug straight into that joined-up delivery model.
Our immediate focus is the domestic retrofit market — including heat pumps — with a building pipeline of commercial projects and an active plan to launch in-house solar PV in the Republic, building on our established Solar PV operation in Northern Ireland. This is an opportunity to come in early on that next chapter and help shape it.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, ambitious electrician who wants more than just a job on the tools. The successful candidate will hit the ground running on live retrofit projects, while taking ownership of building out a small in-house electrical division as the business scales.
This is a dual-track role: hands-on delivery in the short term, with a clear and supported path into leadership, team-building, and broader divisional responsibility (including our planned solar PV offering).
Key Responsibilities
Immediate — On the Tools
- Carry out heat pump pre-installation electrical surveys to a high technical standard.
- Complete remediation and upgrade works identified through surveys (consumer units, bonding, earthing, circuit upgrades, etc.).
- Deliver electrical works as part of wider domestic retrofit packages (insulation, ventilation, heat pumps, windows/doors).
- Certify works under Safe Electric and issue all required documentation.
- Work hand-in-glove with our in-house plumbing and heat pump teams to deliver coordinated retrofit packages.
- Liaise on-site with surveyors, project managers, subcontractors and homeowners to deliver projects to programme and to a high standard of finish.
Near-Term — Building the Division
- Help shape the electrical division: tools, vans, stock, processes, H&S, and quality systems.
- Recruit, mentor and lead a small team of electricians and apprentices as workload grows.
- Support estimating and pricing of electrical works packages.
- Play a lead role in the launch of our in-house ROI Solar PV offering, drawing on the experience of our established Northern Ireland solar operation.
Medium-Term — Growth Areas
- Take on commercial retrofit and electrical works as that pipeline matures.
- Opportunity to step into a Head of Electrical / Divisional Lead position as the team grows.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential
- Qualified Electrician — served time, trade-qualified.
- Safe Electric (RECI) registered, able to certify and sign off domestic works.
- Solid track record across domestic electrical works; comfortable working unsupervised.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong communicator — able to deal directly and professionally with homeowners.
- Ambition to grow with the business: build, lead and develop a team.
Desirable
- Experience of heat pump electrical works and pre-installation surveys.
- Solar PV installation experience or SEAI / QQI solar training.
- EV charge point installation experience.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring electricians/apprentices.
- Exposure to commercial electrical works.
Why Join BlueBuild Energy
- Established business with significant government-backed contracts already in hand — real workload, real security.
- Fully integrated retrofit delivery: work alongside our in-house plumbing and heat pump teams, not external subcontractors.
- Genuine leadership pathway: build and lead your own division, not just slot into an existing structure.
- Be part of the launch of our ROI Solar PV offering from day one, supported by our established NI solar operation.
- Commercial pipeline building — broaden your experience beyond domestic.
- Company van and fuel card provided.
- Funded CPD and further training (heat pump, solar PV, EV, leadership).
- Supportive, energetic team and a business invested in your long-term progression.
