Junior Project Engineer

Location: Office-based at our headquarters in Carlow, with regular site visits

Seamus Byrne Electrical Ltd is an industry-leading provider of commercial and industrial electrical services, delivering high-quality electrical installations and solutions to clients across Ireland. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer / Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified electrician or graduate engineer who is looking to transition into a project engineering and management role while continuing to develop their technical knowledge and professional career.

The Role

Working closely with our experienced Project Management Team, you will gain hands-on experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of commercial and industrial electrical projects. The role is primarily office-based, with regular visits to project sites throughout Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Contracts Manager with the coordination and delivery of electrical projects.
Support the Quantity Surveyor with project documentation, procurement and cost tracking.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports and schedules.
Assist with Health & Safety administration, including site documentation, RAMS and compliance records.
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
Attend occasional site visits to monitor project progress and support quality and safety standards.
Help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Provide general administrative and technical support to the project management team.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A qualification as an electrician or a recent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
A strong interest in project management and Health & Safety.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
