We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead warehouse operations during an assigned shift within our Contract Logistics business. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and developing a team, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently achieved.
Your work will have a direct impact on service quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
What will you be doing?
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives during your shift.
- Plan daily workloads and allocate resources to meet operational requirements.
- Coordinate warehouse activities including inbound, outbound, picking, packing, loading, unloading, and storage.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor productivity, quality, accuracy, and operational KPIs.
- Conduct daily team briefings and communicate priorities, updates, and customer requirements. .
- Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and capability.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, security, and operational standards.
- Investigate operational issues, stock discrepancies, damages, and customer concerns, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Work collaboratively with Warehouse Managers, Operations, Transport, Inventory, and Customer Service teams.
- Support inventory accuracy through correct warehouse processes and system transactions.
- Promote safe use of warehouse equipment and materials handling equipment (MHE).
- Complete detailed shift handovers to ensure continuity across operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, customer service, and cost control.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 5S, and operational excellence projects.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and KPI data.
About you
- You have previous experience supervising a team within a warehouse, distribution, 3PL, or contract logistics environment and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
- Confident at managing productivity targets, KPIs, and customer service requirements while leading and developing a team. You have strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills and can make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is desirable, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. MHE or forklift certification would be an advantage.
- Most importantly, you have a strong commitment to health & safety, quality, accuracy, and delivering excellent service.
