About Us

Spawell Service Station is a busy Maxol-licensed forecourt in Dublin 6 West, home to a full food-to-go offer including Insomnia coffee, Burger Project, alongside our deli counter, shop, and car wash. We're a high-volume site serving commuters, locals, and passing trade throughout the day.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Deli Manager to lead our deli and food-to-go operation. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the deli — food quality, hygiene standards, stock, rostering, and team performance — while working closely with senior management on wider store operations.

This is a full-time, hands-on management role. You'll be on the floor daily.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Food Quality

Manage daily deli production, ensuring consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
Oversee opening/closing procedures and ensure the deli is fully stocked and ready for peak trading periods
Monitor waste, shrinkage, and gross margin on deli lines
Ensure all HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards are met and documented at all times

Team Management

Recruit, train, and roster deli staff to match trading patterns and footfall
Supervise and coach team members, managing performance and conduct issues in line with company policy
Run daily briefings and ensure staff are confident on food safety, allergens, and customer service standards

Stock & Cost Control

Manage ordering and supplier relationships for deli ingredients and packaging
Conduct regular stock takes and control food cost against targets
Work with senior management on menu changes, promotions, and pricing

Compliance & Reporting

Maintain full HACCP and food safety documentation
Ensure compliance with health & safety, allergen labelling, and environmental health requirements
Report weekly on sales, waste, labour cost, and stock variances to senior management

What We're Looking For

Previous experience managing a deli, food-to-go, or QSR operation — forecourt or retail food experience is a strong advantage
Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
Proven people-management experience — rostering, recruitment, and performance management
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-footfall environment
Financially literate — able to work with cost, margin, and waste figures
Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as the role requires
