In EY FS Ireland, we are expanding our Consulting practice and building our Technology Consulting team as a key component of our All In Strategy. All In is EY’s global strategy and ambition to deliver long-term value to clients, people, and society. It is inspired by the way innovations spread through society. We are actively recruiting high achieving individuals with Data Management expertise and hands-on experience in data-enabled transformation projects/programmes within Financial Services: Banking, Insurance and Wealth and Asset management.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a strong background leading Data Management teams or functions in Financial Services, including:
- Data governance, data lineage, data quality processes and remediation for financial, risk and regulatory change projects
- Understanding of data compliance requirements, including BCBS 239 / RDARR
- Experience with integrated data architecture to enable enterprise data capabilities
- Experience with large-scale data-enabled transformation and change
- Domain knowledge in Risk and Finance
- Hands on knowledge of relevant systems and tools, and awareness of current industry trends and best practices.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve key business / client outcomes through data-enabled transformation
- Coach and develop team members in both technical and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand business and technical requirements in order to identify, prioritise and document data management requirements for risk, finance or/ and regulatory change.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing data management processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and integration with new or improved risk, finance, or regulatory solutions.
- Analyse and conduct gap analysis in existing data management processes and lifecycle to identify impact areas and design solution options.
- Design, develop and implement data management solutions to support the implementation of risk, finance or / and regulatory technology and reporting changes, while ensuring internal and external data compliance. Understand impact of regulatory requirements on data solutions, such as BCBS239 principles.
- Monitor data quality and integrity throughout the transformation process, implementing controls and fixes as needed and maintaining compliance with the organisation’s Data Governance and Data Management policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement Data Lineage process improvements and maintain documentation to trace data from source to report. Conduct data lineage gap analysis and provide insights on existing systems, technology, and recommended improvements.
- Provide technical expertise and support for data-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving data integrity problems.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical and data teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of data lifecycle requirements, challenges, and objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of risk, finance and/or regulatory solutions with data lifecycle expertise, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct research and coordinate insights sessions in the selection and implementation of new data technologies, tools and systems for Finance and Risk Domains.
- Provide training and documentation to end-users to ensure successful use and adoption of available data management assets.
Skills and Attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional education.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with a focus on finance, risk, and regulatory projects.
- Relevant work experience in data governance, data management, data engineering or data change delivery roles.
- Knowledge of data management frameworks, processes, compliance requirements, and impact of relevant regulations on data lifecycle (e.g. BCBS239 in banking).
- Experience in Financial Services (Banking, Insurance or Wealth and Asset Management).
- Familiarity with Finance, Risk or/ and Regulatory Reporting domains in Financial Services industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to craft clear and professional PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex data and insights.
- Team centric mindset, always ready support their colleagues and not afraid to ask for help when needed.
- Understanding and respect for client and team deadlines, great organisation skills and ability to organise and prioritise own work to achieve the delivery objectives.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Relevant Data Management certifications and experience with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Growth and continuous learning mindset.
- Experience leading workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Management of MI/ BI reports or preparation and delivery of regulatory reports as a bonus.
