Purpose of this role
This Senior Associate Finance & Investments will operate as a key position within the Finance function, integrating investment oversight, financial reporting, and regulatory delivery for the reinsurance entity. The role-holder will be responsible for ensuring the accurate valuation, performance monitoring, and financial reporting of investment portfolios, while also leading the production of high-quality regulatory and statutory reporting.
Acting as a critical link between Finance, Investments, and Actuarial, the role supports informed decision‑making through strong analysis, sound governance, and clear communication at management level. The successful candidate will help drive the continued enhancement of systems, processes, and controls, ensuring the Finance function remains robust and responsive to evolving business and regulatory demands.
Key Contribution Areas
Ownership of investment accounting results across IFRS and regulatory bases, ensuring accurate valuation, presentation, reconciliation, and alignment of financial outputs across reporting frameworks.
Produce monthly management information ("MI") including performance attribution, trade reporting and other management requirements on investment portfolio.
Own the preparation and validation of asset data for regulatory reporting, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with all regulatory requirements.
Responsible for review of monthly valuations of S110 investment structures including managing relationship with outsource providers.
Responsible for all investment related information for external reporting including financial risk notes and disclosures.
Preparation of monthly collateral reconciliations to ensure assets are in line with treaty requirements.
In conjunction with internal service providers, oversee level 3 assets valuation and report key findings to senior stakeholders.
Support and contribute to strategic and ad hoc projects across Finance and Investments, as required.
Personal Capabilities Required
Professionally qualified such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
Strong team player with ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work under pressure achieve targets and meet strict deadlines and to develop and manage projects.
Be proactive, have an enthusiastic attitude to work and be committed to continuous process improvement.
Have excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.) with a strong appreciation of financial systems (e.g. SAP, BPC, Clearwater, Workiva), and an ability to leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools, to enhance analysis, reporting, and process efficiency.
