ifm Ireland operates as the dedicated sales subsidiary of our German head office and manufacturing facilities. Based in Dublin, our team of field engineers is strategically located across the country to provide close, responsive support to customers in all major manufacturing sectors.

Our portfolio includes industrial sensor & network solutions, control technologies, and digitalisation software to help our customers optimise performance and increase productivity.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team. The role is based from our Clondalkin, Dublin office, with responsibility for customers across Ireland.

A key focus will be developing business within the machine builder (OEM and robotics) and mobile machine sectors, while also supporting opportunities across the wider manufacturing industry.

This is a customer-facing role that combines technical consultation, account management, business development, and project management.

65,000euro base salary + 12,000euro commission = (77,000euro OTE)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow new and existing customer accounts.
Identify customer challenges and deliver automation solutions that add value.
Provide technical consultation and support on automation and sensing applications.
Manage projects from initial opportunity through to successful implementation.
Build strong relationships with engineering, maintenance, production, and management teams.
Present and promote ifm's complete range of automation and digitalisation solutions.
Support and mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and coaching.
Collaboration with the technical team to develop projects and new business found.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in technical sales.
Strong understanding of industrial automation and manufacturing environments.
Ability to work alongside engineering teams on automation and PLC-based solutions (PLC programming experience not required).
Proven track record of developing and growing customer accounts.
Experience managing technical sales projects from concept to completion.
Experience selling systems and complete automation solutions.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Experience within machine builder, OEM, mobile machinery, or industrial automation sectors would be advantageous.
Full driving licence and eligibility to work full-time in Ireland.
Experience with Salesforce and or MH opportunity management and advantage.
