Job Description

We are recruiting a Goods In Assistant to join our client's busy food service operation in Cork. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt, storage, control and dispatch of food and beverage supplies, ensuring stock is accurately accounted for, safely stored and readily available for operational requirements.

This role would suit a candidate with experience in a large-scale hospitality, catering or food service environment who enjoys a hands-on role and takes pride in maintaining high standards of organisation, hygiene and compliance.

Job Responsibilities

Receive, unpack and organise deliveries efficiently to ensure stock is easily located and available for service requirements.
Store goods in accordance with Health & Safety, HACCP and food safety regulations.
Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory, quality and food safety standards, including ISO requirements.
Complete and maintain accurate stock records, including goods received, goods dispatched and wastage.
Ensure all stock movements are properly recorded and accounted for.
Assist with preparing stock orders for dispatch and handover to operational teams.
Conduct regular stock takes and spot checks.
Report breakages, shortages, discrepancies and wastage to management.
Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and hygiene standards of the goods-in area and back-of-house storage areas.
Support the kitchen team with wash-up and kitchen porter duties as required.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and client-specific requirements.
Assist with waste management and stock return processes.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a stores, goods-in, warehouse, catering, hospitality or food service environment.
Working knowledge of stock control, stock rotation, dispatch procedures and record keeping.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of Health & Safety and food hygiene requirements.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
Flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
Professional and reliable work ethic.
Full clean EU driving licence.

Experience working within a large food-based hospitality or catering operation.
Knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety regulations.
Experience using stock management systems.

Hands-on and proactive approach to work.
Dependable and trustworthy.
Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues across different functions.
