The Team
The Operations Office is central to the delivery of our primary role – the operation, development and enhancement of the power system and the wholesale electricity market. The Office is also responsible for the sustainable implementation of the transmission system and market development to meet the future needs of all users of electricity.
Within the Operations Office, the Readiness and Operational Change function comprises of a skilled team of professionals with backgrounds in engineering, business/commerce and legal. We partner with our colleagues in other Offices to deliver the changes to support the development of the power system and market. The team are responsible for ensuring that we are operationally ready for the future market and system and that the appropriate technology solutions are delivered. We also manage Governance, Risk, Compliance and Audit associated with our licence and other legal obligations and ensure ongoing compliance with change. The team engages with external regulatory, System operator and industry stakeholders both in Ireland and Europe on technical and market changes, on implementation of European codes and obligations and on compliance.
The Role
This role within Operations is focused on strengthening oversight of governance, risk, compliance and assurance activities linked to EirGrid’s regulated TSO obligations. The Data & Reporting Analyst will provide structured data, reporting and analytical support to help monitor compliance with licence conditions, European regulatory obligations and relevant industry codes. Working with teams across Operations, the role holder will develop and maintain clear reporting frameworks, dashboards and analysis to support TSO compliance monitoring, audit tracking, regulatory assurance and management decision-making.
The role will support a data-driven approach to TSO governance and compliance by tracking regulatory commitments, audit observations, remediation actions and performance indicators, and by highlighting trends, emerging risks and areas requiring management attention. The role requires strong collaboration, attention to detail and the ability to translate complex operational and compliance data into concise reporting that supports robust TSO oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyse and interpret data relating to TSO governance, risk, compliance, audit and regulatory assurance activities.
- Maintain reliable datasets on regulatory obligations, compliance metrics, audit observations, risks and remediation actions.
- Identify trends, anomalies and emerging risks to support management oversight of TSO obligations.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility of TSO compliance, assurance and risk activities.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting for senior management, internal governance forums and regulatory engagement.
- Support monitoring and reporting of compliance with TSO licence conditions, European regulations and relevant industry codes.
- Track compliance findings, observations, commitments and remediation progress.
- Maintain audit trackers, assurance metrics and evidence records to support TSO audit and assurance activity.
- Provide analytical support for audit planning, sampling, evidence tracking and reporting.
- Promote consistent data governance, definitions and quality controls across TSO compliance reporting.
- Ensure data used for reporting and analysis is accurate, consistent and complete.
- Support improvements to reporting tools, dashboards and governance platforms used for TSO oversight.
- Work with stakeholders to improve automation, efficiency and clarity of compliance tracking and reporting.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, risk analytics, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong data analysis, interpretation and reporting skills, including the ability to identify trends, patterns and risks, and present complex information clearly.
- Experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to produce dashboards, reports and performance metrics.
- Good understanding of data management, data governance, data quality and data integrity practices.
- Awareness of governance, risk and compliance environments, ideally within regulated sectors such as energy, utilities, financial services or public infrastructure.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness of data used in TSO reporting and assurance activities.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise management reports, dashboards and documentation for governance forums.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple reporting requirements and deadlines while coordinating with stakeholders across Operations.
Desirable:
- Professional certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or data management would be an advantage
Experience supporting audit, compliance, risk management, or regulatory reporting activities would be beneficial
