Full job description

Urbanity is a small, independent daytime restaurant dedicated to serving fresh, seasonal food made entirely from scratch. Our menu changes regularly to reflect the best ingredients available, and we pride ourselves on creating simple, high-quality dishes in a warm and welcoming environment.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a smaller team, values consistency and quality, and is comfortable in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Run and maintain a designated section of the kitchen during service
Prepare and present dishes to a consistently high standard
Assist with prep for daily menus, including breakfast, brunch and lunch service
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are met at all times
Support the Head Chef with menu development and specials
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and waste control
Work collaboratively with front-of-house to ensure smooth service
Train and support junior kitchen staff where needed
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up
Solid understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently during busy daytime service periods
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Good communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of food safety and HACCP practices
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
