Full job description

We are seeking an MEP Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to work with our Estimating Department across all regions in the preparation of estimates and successful project execution. This is a technical role involving cost estimation, tender preparation, and pre-construction support for MEP Systems across various sectors including Industrial, Pharmaceutical, DC, Commercial, Residential and Public.

Key Requirements

3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying

3 - 5 years in a similar role
Good working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical work packages
Experience working on large scale data centres will be an advantage

Reporting to the Estimating Director and working with other Pre-Construction Departments as necessary, your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for MEP Systems on major projects
Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to produce competitive bids
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure constructability and feasibility
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing
Identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for value engineering
Support pre-construction planning and tender presentations
Maintain detailed documentation of all estimating processes, assumptions, and calculations
Ensure compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and relevant regulations
Advising on procurement strategy
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

The key individual will be articulate with good numeracy and time management skills. Will possess the ability to work within a team and also independently. Have the ability to prioritise tasks while maintaining good communication and engagement with the wider organisation.
