We are seeking an MEP Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to work with our Estimating Department across all regions in the preparation of estimates and successful project execution. This is a technical role involving cost estimation, tender preparation, and pre-construction support for MEP Systems across various sectors including Industrial, Pharmaceutical, DC, Commercial, Residential and Public.
3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying
- 3 - 5 years in a similar role
- Good working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical work packages
- Experience working on large scale data centres will be an advantage
Reporting to the Estimating Director and working with other Pre-Construction Departments as necessary, your key responsibilities will include:
Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for MEP Systems on major projects- Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to produce competitive bids
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure constructability and feasibility
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing
- Identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for value engineering
- Support pre-construction planning and tender presentations
- Maintain detailed documentation of all estimating processes, assumptions, and calculations
- Ensure compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and relevant regulations
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
The key individual will be articulate with good numeracy and time management skills. Will possess the ability to work within a team and also independently. Have the ability to prioritise tasks while maintaining good communication and engagement with the wider organisation.
