Hours of Attendance: Working hours will be 17.5 hours per week (net of rest breaks).
Salary: Grade V Salary Scale 52,763 - 63,107 per annum pro-rata, i.e. 31,657.80 - 37,864.20 per annum*

Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be 25working days pro-rata, i.e. 15 days. This leave is exclusive of public holidays.
Location: This position facilitates remote working options with a requirement to attend NCAD Offices and/or other locations to meet project partners. The NCAD office is located at 100 Thomas Street, Dublin 8.
About the Role
This role is funded through Creative Ireland is for period of 32 months. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for project managing the rollout and delivery of this innovative, climate change, design-thinking programme, called Designing Climate Resilient Systems, for and with Communities.
Designing Climate Resilient Systems, for and with Communities is a three-year, island-wide initiative that applies whole systems design thinking and speculative design processes to accelerate the transition of Ireland's 1,000+ Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) from masterplan to meaningful action. The project invites all existing SECs to partake in a series of From Planning to Doing events, and for selected SECs, provides an in-depth participation programme involving the three interconnected pillars: Speculative Design for scale and ambition; Deep-Dive Community Action on energy, circular economy, and waste; and Senior Leadership engagement to unlock systemic change.
This is a partnership project that is coordinated by Creative Futures Academy @NCAD (CFA). CFA is a ground-breaking partnership between three leading creative institutions: The National College of Art and Design, University College Dublin, and the Institute of Art, Design + Technology.
Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland
SEAI is the expert authority on decarbonising Irelands energy system, using robust, objective data and an evidence-based approach to help inform policy development and energy user behaviours. SEAI encourages positive changes in how Ireland uses energy to deliver a more prosperous, energy-efficient and cleaner environment.
Context Studio was founded by John Lynch in Dublin in 2018 to improve the services that people in Ireland experience every day. We do this using a people-centred service design approach, grounded in human insight and the power of prototyping.
The Institute of Designers in Ireland is the largest and oldest association of Irish design professionals, and longest established creative forum in Ireland. IDI is committed to advancing the value and impact of design - inspiring, supporting and learning from one another along the way.
Advice NIs mission is to work with members to address poverty and inequality and ensure accessible advice services across NI. Building on the proven success of the Advice NI National Lottery Community Fund (Climate Action Fund)-funded SEC NI Project, they will facilitate the participation of SECs in Northern Ireland.
Role
CFA/NCAD is now looking to appoint a part time coordinator from October 2026 to October 2029 to manage the rollout and development of the Designing Climate Resilient Systems, for and with Communities Climate Action project funded by Creative Ireland. The post holder will work with and report to the project steering group. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all project elements. This will include implementation, stakeholder engagement, gathering inputs for ongoing evaluation and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFA Director, NCAD and IADT staff, NCAD Corporate Services, Academic Affairs, key stakeholders Creative Ireland, and project delivery partners: SEAI, IDI, Advice NI, Context Studio and Design Declares, the Steering Group Chair and Members and Industry partners to manage the delivery of key project outputs against key performance indicators.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview:
This role has been established through Creative Ireland funding and is a funded position for 36 months. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for project managing the rollout and delivery of the Designing Climate Resilient Systems, for and with Communities programme. The post holder will work with and report to the Project Steering Group, project partners and key stakeholders Creative Ireland and manage the delivery of key project outputs against key performance indicators.
Project manage the rollout and development of the Designing Climate Resilient Systems, for and with Communities programme. Working with the Project Steering Group, devise a project plan and timeline ensuring key milestones are met.
Provide administrative support to the Project Steering Group, CFA director and other key personnel involved in delivering the programme, including coordinating meetings and minutes, research and programme development.
Project promotion to include preparation and dissemination of communication materials on and offline.
Manage logistics related to the project: venue booking, coordination of speakers workshop materials, exhibitions, talks and events.
Generation of regular reports linked to project metrics for the steering committee, funders and stakeholders. Gather and disseminate participant staff and wider stakeholder feedback.
Oversee the evaluation of activities across participating organisations and stakeholders and submit a final report to funders.
Working with the appointed team, coordinate the delivery of the meetings, workshops, webinars, exhibitions etc. including oversight of procurement and monitoring spend against budget.
Management of the project budget, providing regular updates to the steering committee.
Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Appropriate Officer from time to time
Selection Criteria for Project Coordinator
Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post. Applications will be assessed on the basis of how well candidates satisfy these criteria.
Mandatory:
Working across the organisation and as part of a small team the post holder will be expected to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to the successful delivery of this exciting and important project.
A minimum of 2 years experience in an equivalent role in community contexts, cultural or design focused and/or Education and Training Sectors;
Have excellent communication both written and verbal;
Have excellent interpersonal skills, with proven experience of building relationships with external and internal stakeholders;
Strong administration, project management skills and experience;
Have experience in the preparation of reports and the presentation of the results / findings contained in such reports;
Proven track record of project delivery and meeting deadlines;
Have excellent IT skills with strong G-Suite skills;
Have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines;
Enjoy working in a creative environment, collaborating across teams and effectively responding to tasks and requests;
Be legally eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
Desirable:
Have experience of budget management;
Have experience of communications and promotion across social media platforms
Have a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
