Full job description

Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: (Hybrid]
Hours: Part-Time, 16 hours per week ]

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper looking for flexible working arrangements and offers the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems.
Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, and customer receipts.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with other statutory filings.
Process payroll and maintain payroll records (if applicable).
Prepare monthly management reports and financial information.
Support year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external accountants.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

Previous bookkeeping experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

IATI, AAT, Accounting Technician, or equivalent bookkeeping qualification.
Experience in a small business environment.
Payroll and VAT experience.

Personal Attributes

Reliable and trustworthy.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills.
Professional and discreet when handling sensitive information.
