Loan Officer / Executive Assistant - Maternity Leave Position for 8 months

We are seeking to hire an experienced Loan Officer / Executive Assistant to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

Meet and communicate with applicants to explain the risks and benefits, as well as the terms and conditions of loan products and the associated regulations.
Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants' financial status, including credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine recommendation for loan approval.
Ensure all necessary information and documentation relating to loan underwriting is recorded properly in electronic file format.
Interview applicants to define financial eligibility and establish repayment plans.
Submit loan applications in a timely manner.
Prepare detailed loan proposals.
Approve or reject loan applications.
Respond to applicant’s questions and resolve any loan-related issues.
Assist in the preparation of the Credit Unions strategy and financial projections.
Report to and consult with management in a variety of areas:
Risk & Compliance
Internal Audit
Preparation of Trading Accounts
Electronic File processing
Strategy & Policy
Preparation of the board pack and associated documentation

Qualifications

Degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field
2+ years of experience in the mortgage lending, banking, or real estate industry
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with a particular emphasis on excel, and the ability to use relevant industry-specific computer programs.
QFA / APA qualification ideally but must be willing to undertake the qualification.
Good and well developed interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both in a team and independently.
