About the Role
Extreme Balconies is seeking a reliable and organised Yard Operative / Forklift Driver to join our team at our brand-new facility in Clane, Co. Kildare.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the yard, including unloading deliveries, loading trucks with balconies and other materials, organising stock and ensuring the yard remains clean, safe and well managed.
This is a hands-on role that requires good organisation, awareness of health and safety and the ability to work closely with drivers, production teams and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
· Unload incoming deliveries safely and efficiently
· Load trucks with balconies, materials, equipment and other items for delivery to construction sites
· Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
· Ensure loads are prepared correctly and securely
· Check incoming and outgoing materials against delivery documentation
· Organise balconies and materials within the yard
· Maintain clearly designated storage and loading areas
· Keep the large tarmacked yard clean, organised and free from unnecessary obstructions
· Assist with stock control, stock checks and the movement of materials
· Report damaged, missing or incorrectly delivered materials
· Coordinate with drivers, production teams and management regarding deliveries and collections
· Ensure the correct items are loaded onto the correct vehicles
· Assist with preparing materials for upcoming deliveries
· Follow all company health and safety procedures
· Carry out daily checks on forklifts and yard equipment
· Support other departments and assist with additional duties when required
· Help identify ways to improve the organisation and efficiency of the yard
Experience and Skills
· Previous experience working in a construction, manufacturing, warehouse or yard environment is preferred
· Experience loading and unloading trucks
· Forklift experience is strongly preferred
· Valid forklift certification would be an advantage
· Good organisational and stock-management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Reliable, punctual and willing to take responsibility for the yard
· Good communication skills
· Ability to carry out physical and manual work safely
· Flexible approach and willingness to assist with other tasks when required
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be practical, dependable and proactive. They will take pride in maintaining an organised and efficient yard and will be comfortable coordinating multiple deliveries, collections and loading activities throughout the working day.
Previous experience handling large construction components, steelwork or similar materials would be beneficial but is not essential.
