Full job description

The Ionad an Mhachaire / Maghery Community Centre is a busy community centre based in the picturesque coastal village of Maghery in west Donegal.

Job Description & person specification.

In this role you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and the overseeing of a community centre and its various services to the public. You must possess a good knowledge of community development work & ethos. The role includes managing and communicating with the Board of Directors / Management committee. You will also be required to manage/liaise with all staff in the provision of centre services such as:

catering
finances
marketing, advertising and PR
Elderly Social Day Club
Monthly Reports to The Board of Directors
reception/front of house/customer care.
Maghery Coastal Adventures
Online booking systems

Duties and Responsibilities

To manage the company’s ongoing Community Services Programme and to co-ordinate activities on other community development projects that the company is involved in.

The ideal candidate should;

Have several years' experience of sourcing funding and working with the community and voluntary sector in either a paid or voluntary capacity and dealing with statutory agencies.
Have experience in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
Skills and ability to develop people through teamwork and mutual respect, to work on one's own initiative and provide leadership.
Have experience in managing staff.

Qualifications / Work Experience

It would be an advantage to possess a qualification in community development, or at least 3 years’ experience working in a community setting or a similar management post.

A fluency in the Irish Language will be an advantage.
