JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Accounts Assistant

Reporting To: Accountant

Job Summary: We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administration or accounts experience who enjoys working in a busy office environment.

Working closely with the Accountant and wider finance team, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the finance department across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general office administration while developing your finance career.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate records.
Assist with supplier payment runs.
Maintain finance files and supporting documentation.

Accounts Receivable

Review and process customer invoices.
Allocate customer receipts and update accounting records.
Follow up on outstanding invoices and assist in resolving customer queries and disputes.

Finance Administration

Provide administrative support to the finance team.
Manage incoming post.
Order office stationery and supplies.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Experience

1–2 years' experience in an accounts, finance, or administration role, or a qualification in Business, or Finance.
Previous experience in a commercial environment would be an advantage.
A demonstrable track record of providing accurate administrative support.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software is desirable.

Education

Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
