Role Description:
We are recruiting an experienced Qualified Electrician to join our team to work on a wide range of energy efficiency retrofit projects in the Mayo / Connacht region with the primary responsibility of carrying out electrical wiring, testing and commissioning of heat pumps, solar PV installations and mechanical extract fans amongst other works

Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out electrical installations which includes wiring, testing, and commissioning of,
- Heat pump installations
- Solar PV Installations
- Mechanical Extract Fans
- Demand Controlled Ventilation Systems
- External Lighting
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards in line with manufacturers guidelines, SEAI code of practice, building regulations and CHS company standards
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with all relevant health and safety requirements for the given project.
- Completion of Installer Installation Declarations on completion of works (Paperless system provided)
- Completing a full handover of the upgraded system to the client
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a clean and tidy manner and one that minimises disruption to the homeowner
- Always acting in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner with all dealings with customers, occupants and general public while working on behalf of the company.
General Requirements
- Qualified Electrician
- Heat Pump Training is an advantage but not essential (Training provided)
- Have previous experience or be familiar with SEAI Codes of Practice
- Professional, honest, hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
- Clean and tidy tradesperson.
- Good IT and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills are essential
- Able to use your initiative.
Health & Safety Requirements
- CSCS Safe Pass.
- CSCS Manual Handling Training.

Salary & Wages
Salary guide for this role is €60,000 - €70,000 per Annum. This is paid weekly by EFT (Electric Funds Transfer). Employees must work in hand, which means the employee will receive their week’s wage the week after it was earned.
Hours of Work
Standard working hours (39 hours/week) are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on Fridays located on sites in Mayo or across the Connacht region.
Flexible Hours
Flexibility is provided to employees to start one hour earlier or two hours later each day (7am – 7pm) once a minimum of 39hours is completed on site and is approved in advance by the relevant line manager.
Eating on Site Allowance
An ‘eating on site’ allowance, tax free, may be paid (maximum allowance of €5 per day) to site-based employees if:
- Facilities for making tea, coffee, or other refreshments are not provided.
- The employee does not receive any other form of tax-free subsistence payment.
- The employee works on the site for at least 1.5 hours before, and 1.5 hours after their normal lunch break.
Standard Holidays
All full-time employees receive 20 days of paid holidays each year.
Sick Pay Scheme
Paid sick leave is provided for up to 3 sick days in 2022. This will increase to 5 days in 2023, 7 days in 2024 and 10 days in 2025. A rate of payment for sick leave of will be paid at 70% of normal wages up to a maximum €110 per day.
Employees must have worked six months to be eligible for the scheme. You will also need to be certified by a GP as unfit to work.
Company Pension Scheme (PRSA)
The company will provide membership to a Personal Retirement Savings Account (PRSA) which can be used to save for your retirement. It is an investment account because you can invest your savings in various investment funds through your account. You can make regular payments or lump sum payments to your PRSA, and these are usually tax deductible.
Fleet Package
A commercial fleet package consisting of commercial vehicle, vehicle tracking, and maintenance is provided.

Fuel Expense Card
Fuel cards are provided to management and staff who are provided with a company vehicle as part of their role or use their own vehicle for work purposes on a regular basis.
Vehicle Cleaning Expense Allowance
Drivers of company vehicles are responsible to maintain their vehicles. They are also responsible to keep them clean and tidy at all times and are provided with a monthly expense allowance to cover the cost associated with this responsibility.
