Description

TLI Group are accepting applications for a Junior Project Scheduler within our Renewables business. The successful candidate will support the planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of project programmes across TLI Group projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Project Teams, the Junior Project Scheduler will help maintain accurate project schedules, track progress against programme milestones, and ensure schedule information is current, reliable and available to key stakeholders.
This role provides an excellent entry point into project controls and planning within a Design & Build project environment, supporting programme reporting and helping identify schedule risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development and maintenance of project programmes using Microsoft Project.
Update project schedules with progress information received from Project Managers and Project Teams.
Monitor project milestones and key deliverables against agreed programme dates.
Produce weekly and monthly programme reports for project teams and management.
Support the identification and communication of programme delays, risks and constraints.
Maintain project baseline programmes and record approved programme changes.
Assist in tracking critical path activities and key project dependencies.
Maintain programme documentation and schedule records in accordance with company procedures.
Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Design Teams and Construction Teams to gather programme updates.
Support project governance meetings by providing accurate scheduling information and reports.
Assist with planning data analysis and the preparation of project dashboards and performance metrics.
Maintain project planning templates and scheduling standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications

Third Level Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related discipline.
Alternatively, relevant experience within a project administration, planning or project controls environment.
Microsoft Project training or certification would be an advantage but is not essential.
Relevant internship, work placement or work experience within a project environment would be beneficial, however, training and development will be provided for the right candidate.

Knowledge

Familiarity with project planning and scheduling principles.
Familiarity with project lifecycle stages from design through construction and handover.
Basic understanding of project reporting and programme management concepts.
Basic understanding of project delivery within construction, utilities, engineering or infrastructure projects would be an advantage but is not essential.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.

Experience

Experience using Microsoft Project to create or update project schedules would be an advantage but is not essential.
Experience using Microsoft Excel to organise and analyse project data.
Experience producing simple reports and programme updates.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders and coordinating information from different sources would be an advantage but is not essential.

Skills

Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to understand programme logic and project dependencies.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
Positive and proactive approach with eagerness to learn and develop within a project controls environment.
Reliable, accountable, collaborative and adaptable to changing project priorities.
