Full job description

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in Trust and Safety, public policy, Turkish policy, international relations, international law, risk analysis, or related fields.
Experience with project management and data analytics.
Ability to communicate in English and Turkish fluently to support team relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in relevant field.
Education in, or experience with, machine learning.
Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python).
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

As a Market Responsibility Specialist supporting the Turkish market and the EMEA region, you will be responsible for ensuring that we are constantly growing our understanding of trends and risks from Turkey and the wider EMEA region on YouTube. You will monitor trends and intelligence sources, help to launch new product features with market and language knowledge and ensure our enforcement guidelines are informed by the market.

You will help implement and enforce our policies across millions of pieces of content videos, as well as define and implement operational plans globally, liaising and working with stakeholders in areas like Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Public Policy, PR, Partnerships and Legal. This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.

Responsibilities

Monitor intel sources, work with cross-functional teams, and leverage contacts to identify abuse trends in the Turkish markets, monitor emerging sensitive events, support sensitive escalations and election/major event readiness and highlight risks to the YouTube ecosystem and Trust and Safety.
Coordinate across markets and global teams to drive consistency into Trust and Safety’s approach to supporting elections worldwide.
Ensure connectivity among stakeholders to support evolution of Trust and Safety’s approach to landing sensitive enforcement decisions.
Triage threats, prepare risk assessments, and action plans based on market knowledge, including regional events and escalations, and act as the main point-of-contact.
