The Senior Manager of Commercial Strategy, Industry Relations is responsible for supporting the development of rebate and formulary strategies to improve the access and affordability of healthcare, specifically for pharmaceutical products on OptumRx and custom client formularies. This position is part of a cross functional internal team including Finance / Accounting, Clinical, Legal, Contract Specialist, Client Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

The US healthcare market with respect to OptumRx pharmacy benefit design and operations
Support of financial modeling and strategic business analytics for rebate and contract optimization and net cost strategy assessment of pharmaceutical products
Drug product strategy development in collaboration with internal colleagues. Compare and value differing strategies based on generated data
Ensure efficient information sharing between teams to support effective decision making
An understanding and knowledge of established clinical guidelines determined by OptumRx P&T
Develop and maintain positive relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers
Drive ideas forward and obtain cross functional buy - in based on the analysis of effectiveness of drugs, drug cost, and drug market share
Be prepared to be challenged. This is a fast-paced, intense and performance focused environment where you'll need to juggle competing priorities, present complex information and work with senior level leadership

Required Qualifications:

Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams or departments to support business growth and profitability goals
Proven experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare environments
Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex or technical information and interpret complex information effectively
Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and work effectively with others

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Demonstrated experience in strategy development, contracting, and contract review
Proven experience in financial analysis, healthcare pricing, network management, healthcare economics, or a related discipline
Proven experience in managed healthcare or pharmacy benefit management environments
Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry
