As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Embedded Software Test engineer - to join our group.
As part of our growing Software Test Team, you will work closely with R&D teams to plan and implement test cases and procedures, helping us mature our products through prototype, protoflight, and production-ready flight software.
This isn't your standard blackbox testing (though experience with that is helpful!). You will be breaking new ground and helping us achieve our goal of building the internet in space.

Test Planning & Design: Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to contribute to well-structured test plans and test cases.

Scope & Strategy: Identify test scope, objectives, and strategies in collaboration with the development team and key stakeholders.

Environment & Data: Develop and maintain test data and test environments.

Execution & Reporting: Execute manual and automated test cases according to the test plan, providing clear and concise reports.

Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.

Embedded Testing: Perform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and fuzz testing (as applicable) primarily on embedded software systems.

Automation: Design, develop, maintain, and improve automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks.

CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and assist in managing the CI/CD pipeline toolchain.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to support defect resolution, collaborating with product owners and stakeholders across the software development lifecycle.

Communication: Communicate effectively with the team regarding test progress, results, and any roadblocks encountered.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Methodologies: Experienced in applying the V-Model for verification & validation, as well as Agile methodologies.

Embedded Systems Experience: Proven track record of validating embedded software systems and identifying relevant tests to qualify system performance.

Requirements & Test Design: Strong experience in requirement decomposition and creating/executing test plans and test cases.

Certifications: Software testing qualifications such as ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate (or equivalent).

Core Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, paired with strong communication and collaboration abilities.

High-Level Languages: Experience with Python, JavaScript/ECMAScript, etc.

Low-Level Languages: Experience with C and C++.

CI/CD Tooling: Experience creating and configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Domain Knowledge: Experience testing embedded systems and networking protocols. (CANBUS ideally)

Agile Workflows: Hands-on experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

43,000 - 70,000 EUR per year(Galway)
