Full job description

We are seeking a Global Head of Pre-Sales to lead technical pre-sales engagements across the globe in this senior customer-facing role embedded with our customer in the Information Technology sector. You will serve as a strategic leader collaborating with the customer's prospects, teams, and internal stakeholders to shape opportunities and drive successful deal progression, merging sales expertise, technical strategy, licensing knowledge, and service delivery. This role combines mentorship, strategic planning, and hands-on customer engagement to ensure the customer's pre-sales function operates at peak effectiveness and delivers against business objectives.

Please note: this role operates on a hybrid model, with 3 days per week in our customer's Dublin office.

Required Experience:

Strong knowledge of IBM, SAP, VMware, and HCL software products, including licensing models
Minimum 10+ years in a senior technical pre-sales or customer-facing role
Proven experience collaborating with executive-level and cross-functional stakeholders
Exceptional planning, organisational, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
Ability to function effectively under pressure and navigate complex challenges with sound judgment

Key responsibilities & duties include:

Lead and mentor the pre-sales team, ensuring they are equipped to effectively support sales efforts and deliver on business objectives
Craft a robust pre-sales strategy that aligns with business vision, objectives, and revenue targets, focusing on enhancing operational structure
Establish a strong engagement model that allows pre-sales to actively participate in high-value deals, collaborating closely with the customer's sales and other departments
Foster a cohesive environment among regional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on goals
Set clear metrics to evaluate the success of pre-sales initiatives and make data-driven adjustments as needed
Lead global technical pre-sales activities, ensuring each deal is well-qualified and positioned for success, using a consultative approach to understand the customer's environment, support needs, and potential barriers to adoption
Coordinate customer-facing technical engagements, including discovery calls, presentations, and workshops with the customer's stakeholders and executive sponsors
Collaborate with internal teams including licensing, technical subject matter experts, legal, and support to efficiently address inquiries and move opportunities forward
Deliver compelling presentations that clearly communicate technical credibility and value proposition to the customer's decision-makers
Identify risks and blockers early, develop mitigation plans, and support the sales team in progressing opportunities to closure
Capture market intelligence, customer feedback, and product insights to strengthen sales conversations and inform future service development

Desirable Experience:

University degree or equivalent experience
Formal management, consulting, or technical training
Professional sales training
