We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Commis Chef to join our growing team here at Kilkea Castle.

Kilkea Castle Hotel is a 140-bedroom resort set on 180 acres of landscape, gardens and ancient woodland. Job Title:

Commis Chef

Reporting to:

Director of Culinary, Executive Sous Chef, and Head Chef

Job Description:

As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team in preparing high-quality dishes, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of food under the guidance of senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your workstation in line with hygiene and safety standards.
Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
Store food items properly and monitor stock levels to reduce waste.
Assist with receiving and checking deliveries.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hotel policies at all times.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role required.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
Minimum 12 months valid work permit required
