Full job description

Dublin, Ireland / Remote

This is a varied role that role requires strong technical design ability in VMware NSX and
associated technologies with extensive 3rd level support and management experience.

This role is part of a skilled support team in a 24x7 managed service environment providing
remote technical support and project services to multiple client environments on behalf of
Triangle.

You must be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding and knowledge of the VMware core infrastructure and NSX and have engaged with enterprise customers to design, implement and support solutions based on the customer’s specific use case and requirements.

With an understanding of the bigger picture, you can design solutions that meet the customers’ underlying business objectives rather than just implementing the technical product.

The VMware Senior Consultant will work closely with Triangle Architects and the client and be able to take ownership of complex solutions and take them to completion with minimal supervision or review. The candidate must also be able to take ownership of complex issues, ensure SLAs are met and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Act as senior technical support for multiple customer environments across managed service and project engagements.
Effectively deal with high priority and escalated customer technical issues.
Follow and engage with standard incident, problem and change management processes to meet
defined service level agreements including root cause analysis of critical incidents.
Escalate issues appropriately internally within Triangle or to relevant vendor while remaining within service levels
Pro-actively search out potential issues in the environment and resolve them before they become a problem.
Systems management design activities, including s/w level reviews for patching and upgrades, capacity management and performance management activities
Enterprise level systems management and monitoring experience
Act as reliable technical design resource for client project requests and new opportunities
Creation and review of customer technical proposals, including high-level design and estimates that meet customer’s needs
Creation and review of Solution Specifications
Installation and delivery of solutions on customer site
Create and own full project and solution technical documentation to Triangle and customer standards
Have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with customers,
colleagues and superiors.

Role specific requirements

The position requires deep technical knowledge along with strong communication skills. You will be able to lead with hands-on skills from requirements gathering and design to deployment and operational readiness for ongoing environment management.

You should have experience and understanding of physical as well as virtual networks, be VCP and/or VCAP certified and have experience in three or more of the following:

NSX-V
NSX-T
Network Insight (vRNI)
Carbon Black
NSX Advanced Load Balancer (Avi Networks)
VMware Cloud on AWS

An understanding of the complementary elements of the Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) is essential as you will be working alongside consultants to build SDDC solutions or troubleshooting existing implementations.

You must also have:

Strong technical design ability and expertise in the implementation and configuration of Virtual & physical infrastructure solutions.
Experience of capacity planning and sizing methodologies
Design and Implementation of High Availability Solutions required
Cloud management tools experience highly desirable
ITIL Foundation Certified highly desirable
Security experience desirable.
Linux experience desirable
Scripting skills for system administration purposes
Full driving license
