We’re looking for enthusiastic, competent and experienced site professionals to join our growing team for ongoing project in Finland.
This is a highly specialised position where your expertise and judgement play a key role in maintaining site safety, ensuring compliance, and upholding operational standards.
We are seeking candidates who have a strong, practical understanding of effective plant operations. The role extends beyond standard assessment duties and is ideal for individuals with experience in plant machinery, health and safety, construction, or heavy industry. You should feel confident assessing whether operators are competent, working safely, and meeting expected performance standards.
A formal assessor qualification is not required, as full training will be provided on the relevant frameworks, procedures, and documentation. The most important qualities are hands-on experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to make fair, consistent, and well-informed decisions in an active site setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Operator Assessment and Decision-Making
- Monitor plant machinery operators in real-time on active construction sites
- Determine whether operators are performing safely, competently, and to a professional standard
- Evaluate areas such as machine handling, awareness of risks, on-site conduct, and compliance with safe working procedures
- Make clear, impartial judgements regarding operator capability and suitability
Assessment Procedures and Record-Keeping
- Apply the companies assessment methods and standards consistently
- Accurately complete all required reports, checklists, and sign-off documentation
- Keep thorough, well-documented records to support all findings and decisions
On-Site Collaboration and Communication
- Operate on live project sites in Finland as part of a diverse, international workforce
- Liaise effectively with site supervisors and machinery operators
- Deliver clear, professional, and evidence-based feedback when needed
- Uphold a strong professional presence and represent the company to a high standard on-site
Lifting Equipment Inspector:
- Conduct thorough inspections of various types of lifting equipment including hoists, and rigging in accordance with regulations
- Identify and document equipment defects, malfunctions and safety concern.
- Provide recommendations for repairs, replacements or maintenance activities based on inspection findings
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection reports for compliance purposes.
Essential Requirements
- Valid EU or EEA citizenship
- Full driving licence
- Previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Plant machinery operator (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, etc.)
-Plant fitter or plant mechanic
-Health & Safety role within construction or heavy industry
-Construction supervisor, foreman, or site-based leadership role
-Heavy industry or plant hire environment experience
- Strong understanding of plant machinery and safe site operations
- A willingness to work in Finland or other European project locations on rotational or permanent assignments.
Qualifications / Background
- Plant machinery operation (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, loading shovels, rollers, MEWPs, etc.)
- Plant fitting or mechanical maintenance
- Lifting equipment inspection
- Construction supervision or site management
- Health & Safety within construction or heavy industry
- Plant hire or heavy industry environments
- Mechanical or electrical fitting
- The confidence to make sound decisions and work independently on site.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Machinery Exposure (Typical)
Experience with some or all of the below is beneficial:
- Excavators
- Dumpers (articulated and forward tipping)
- Telehandlers
- Loading shovels
- Rollers
- MEWPs / access platforms
- Heavy or specialist construction plant
