Role: Barista Trainer
Reporting to: Barista Training Manager
As a Barista Trainer your primary responsibilities will involve the training of customers and their staff on all aspects of the relevant techniques for safely and correctly using any equipment or product supplied to their business. To drive coffee quality and to implement short and long term plans using effective communication and building relationships with internal and external customers.
Broad Scope of Responsibilities
Function
- Deliver training and Coffee Quality Check activities on a quarterly basis in support of our customers. These will be proactive scheduled events or reactive actions based on CQC results.
- Support other departments to deliver high quality coffee at customer pitches, tastings, and trade events.
- Represent Bewley’s at SCA events throughout the year, showcasing the quality of the trainers in Bewleys and building industry profile and credibility.
- In conjunction with the ASM’s, be part of a Bewleys task force who will blitz key community areas to sell in Bewleys.
Main Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Work internally to ensure Coffee is at the forefront of the culture of the business – work with the Barista Training Manager to identify and implement programs / information etc across all departments.
- To attend training and information sessions as required, as part of a continuous improvement programme to ensure that Bewley’s remain industry leading.
- Establish key contacts with main customers, as defined by the Sales Team to ensure development of Bewley’s relationship.
- To monitor and review standards on site when conducting training sessions or carrying out Coffee Quality Checks. Report back to customer, and relevant Bewleys colleagues.
- To ensure the training and feedback being offered to our customers is consistent and professional.
- Ensure that all training documentation, Coffee Quality Check records and day to day admin is captured and updated in a timely manner.
- Support the Barista Training Manager and AST’s in the delivery of the SCA training course programme for customers and internal staff in Bewley’s.
- Carry out training sessions for customers and non-customers in NX training room.

- Desirable qualifications – SCA and Train the Trainer
- Desirable – being able to demonstrate active involvement over the past two years in SCA coffee competitions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good comprehension of Teams, Excel, and willingness to adopt new IT systems as they arise.
- Relevant training experience within a food service environment
