Job Title: Yard Operative

Company: CORE Builders' Providers

Location: CORE Clondalkin | Oakfield Industrial Estate | Ninth Lock Rd | Clondalkin | D22 XD28

Overview:
A Yard Operative plays a crucial role in daily operations. This position involves stock handling, order preparation, housekeeping, and assisting customers while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. Working under the instruction of the senior yard team and reporting directly to the Yard Manager, this role contributes to smooth daily operations and a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management & Order Fulfilment:

Pick, pack, and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Load and unload deliveries, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
Assist with stock-taking procedures and inventory control.
Ensure stock is stored systematically and is clearly identifiable.
Liaise with shop staff to fulfil customer and trade orders.
Report damages to stock controller.
Inform customers and staff about alternatives if stock is not available.

Customer Service & Engagement:

Assist customers in the yard and warehouse area, providing excellent service.
Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs.
Work collaboratively with the trade counter and shop teams to ensure seamless service.
Customers take priority when in yard above loading our own trucks etc.

Operations & Housekeeping:

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and warehouse at all times.
Ensure all products are stored safely and workspace upkeep meets company standards.
Monitor security to prevent theft or misuse of company property.
Follow operational and health & safety procedures as outlined by the company.

Equipment Use & Compliance:

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Adhere to all safety regulations when handling materials and machinery.
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and effective warehouse operations.
If you take out equipment/stock, it needs to be put back.
Daily forklift and health and safety checks.

As a Yard Operative, you are expected to show:

Ensure all stock is handled with accuracy and care to maintain operational efficiency.

Customer-Centric Approach:
Provide friendly and helpful service to customers visiting the yard and warehouse.

Operational Excellence:
Follow company procedures for stock management, order fulfilment, and housekeeping.

Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the senior yard team, shop staff, and trade counter to support overall business operations.

Proactive Mindset:
Take initiative in maintaining a well-organised, clean, and safe working environment.

Skill and Experience:

Required:

Good organisational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
Commitment to maintaining a tidy and well-organised workspace.

Preferred:

Previous experience in a builders’ providers or warehouse environment.
Forklift license and experience is an advantage, but training can be arranged.
