AECOM is seeking an experienced Quality Lead:Rail projects to join our Dublin-based team, supporting the delivery of major transport infrastructure programmes across Ireland.
This is a programme-level quality leadership role, providing strategic direction, governance and assurance across projects and workstreams. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in quality management within complex infrastructure programmes, together with a sound understanding of the Irish transport environment.
A key requirement is familiarity with client procedures, standards and ways of working, as well as experience of quality requirements associated with tunnelling and rail infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee quality management activities at programme and PMO level, ensuring consistent application of quality requirements across projects and workstreams.

Develop, implement and maintain programme-level Quality Management Plans, processes, procedures and assurance frameworks.

Provide independent quality assurance and governance, identifying risks, trends, non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure project teams comply with applicable client requirements, standards and procedures.

Establish and monitor quality performance indicators, reporting quality status, risks and key issues to programme leadership.

Support the development and implementation of audit, inspection, assurance and continuous improvement programmes.

Work closely with project managers, design teams, contractors, technical disciplines and client representatives to embed quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide quality leadership across complex infrastructure interfaces, with particular consideration of rail, tunnelling and major transport infrastructure requirements.

Review and challenge project quality documentation, deliverables and assurance evidence.

Lead or support investigations into quality issues, non-conformances and root causes, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.

Promote a strong quality culture across the programme, encouraging consistent standards and a proactive approach to risk management.

Contribute to programme governance, stage-gate reviews and management reporting.

As the successful candidate, you will have experience working across a range of sectors and will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Essential Experience
-
Significant experience in a Quality Management / Quality Assurance role within major infrastructure, engineering or construction programmes.

Demonstrable experience operating at programme, portfolio or PMO level, rather than solely at individual project level.

Strong understanding of quality management systems, assurance processes, audits, non-conformance management and continuous improvement.
-
Familiarity with client procedures, standards and ways of working in the Irish transport infrastructure environment.
-
Experience of quality requirements associated with tunnelling and/or rail projects.
-
Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including clients, designers, contractors and delivery partners.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present quality information clearly to senior management.

Ability to influence project teams and drive consistent quality standards across multiple workstreams.
Desirable
-
Experience working on major Irish transport infrastructure programmes.
-
Relevant professional qualification or degree in engineering, construction, quality management or a related discipline.

Membership of a relevant professional body or quality organisation.
-
Knowledge of recognised quality management standards such as ISO 9001.
-
Experience within multidisciplinary programme environments involving complex interfaces and significant delivery risk.
