General Operations Manager

Location: Dublin
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: €80,000–€95,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday

About Us

We are a well-established and growing Irish business operating across multiple sectors, including retail, food production, distribution, residential and commercial property. With a network of multi-site operations and a dedicated Head Office team, we are seeking an experienced General Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the leadership and performance of the business. You will provide strategic direction and day-to-day operational oversight across Head Office functions, ensuring departments work collaboratively, efficiently and in line with company objectives.

You will directly manage and support a team of head office departmental managers, including Payroll, Health & Safety, Marketing, Area Management, Property Management and other Head Office functions. Together, these departments support a growing workforce of approximately 140 employees across the wider business.

This role requires a proactive leader who can identify operational challenges before they escalate, implement practical solutions and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction and support to Head Office department managers.
Drive operational excellence across all Head Office functions and ensure departments are aligned with company objectives.
Work closely with the Managing Director to develop and implement business strategy and operational initiatives.
Monitor departmental performance through KPIs, accountability and regular performance reviews.
Identify operational breakdowns, performance issues and process inefficiencies, implementing effective corrective actions and preventative measures to minimise future risk.
Ensure strong communication and collaboration between departments to achieve business objectives.
Lead business improvement projects and implement new systems and processes where required.
Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, Health & Safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee resource planning, operational budgeting and cost control within departments.
Produce regular operational reports and recommendations for the Managing Director.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance throughout the organisation.

About You

Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a General Operations Manager or in an equivalent senior operational leadership position.
Proven experience leading multiple departments within a multi-site retail, hospitality, food production, distribution or similar operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage senior managers, build high-performing teams and hold departments accountable for results.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse business performance and make informed operational decisions.
Experience identifying operational risks, resolving complex issues and implementing sustainable improvements.
Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
A hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge, influence and drive positive change.

What We Offer

Competitive salary of €80,000–€95,000, depending on experience.
Monday to Friday working week.
