Mostly Remote | Flexible Part-Time Role | Base Pay + Generous Uncapped Commission

Know How to Sell Weddings?

The Abbey is an exclusive-use wedding venue in Athy, Co. Kildare, and we're looking for a talented salesperson to help more couples discover — and choose — The Abbey for their wedding.

This is not a traditional 9–5 role.

It's a flexible, mostly remote sales opportunity that could work brilliantly alongside another job, freelance work, family commitments or an existing career in the wedding or hospitality industry.

What matters to us isn't where you sit or how many hours you spend behind a desk.

What matters is how well you look after our couples, manage your sales pipeline and convert enquiries into weddings.

The Role

Our marketing team generates enquiries from couples considering The Abbey for their wedding.

You'll take ownership of those couples from their initial enquiry through to booking.

You'll:

Respond quickly and personally to new wedding enquiries
Build relationships with couples by phone, WhatsApp and email
Understand what they're looking for in their wedding venue
Nurture and consistently follow up sales opportunities
Book couples in for viewings at The Abbey
Conduct in-person venue viewings when required
Host virtual tours for couplesFollow up after viewings
Answer questions and confidently handle objections
Recognise buying signals and ask for the booking
Close wedding sales
Keep our sales pipeline and CRM accurate and up to date

Once a couple books, our experienced wedding and venue team takes over.

Your focus is sales.

Mostly Remote. Occasionally at The Abbey.

The majority of this role can be carried out remotely.

You'll manage enquiries, calls, WhatsApp conversations, follow-ups and the sales pipeline from home.

However, you'll also need to be available to conduct in-person viewings at The Abbey in Athy.

Viewings are organised in advance and typically grouped together where possible.

Depending on demand, this may mean attending The Abbey one or two times during a viewing week, with some weeks requiring no venue attendance at all.

We're looking for someone based within reasonable travelling distance of Athy who has the

flexibility to attend the venue when viewings are scheduled.

The rest of the role is fully remote.

A Different Kind of Flexible Role

Wedding sales don't always happen neatly between 9am and 5pm.

A couple might send a WhatsApp message in the evening.

A new enquiry might arrive in the afternoon.

Someone who viewed The Abbey at the weekend might need a quick follow-up call on Monday.

We're looking for someone who can keep a close eye on the sales pipeline and respond quickly when opportunities arise.

That doesn't mean sitting at a desk all day.

You might spend 20 minutes responding to enquiries in the morning, make a few follow-up calls during the afternoon and speak with a couple in the evening.

You'll have significant freedom to organise your own time.

In return, we expect our sales pipeline to be actively managed and our couples to receive a fast, warm and personal response.

This opportunity could be particularly well suited to someone who:
Already works part-time
Works freelance or runs their own business
Has flexibility around their existing career
Previously worked in wedding venue or hotel sales
Works elsewhere in the wedding industry
Has stepped away from full-time hospitality
Is looking for an additional, performance-based income opportunity

You don't necessarily need to have sold weddings before.

But you do need to understand sales.

We're not simply looking for someone who loves weddings or enjoys showing people around beautiful venues.

We're looking for someone who can build relationships, manage a pipeline, follow up and close.

You'll Be Great at This If You:

Build rapport quickly
Enjoy speaking with customers
Are highly responsive
Are confident on the phone
Naturally follow up
Are persistent without being pushy
Can recognise buying signals
Are comfortable discussing price
Can confidently handle objections
Know when and how to ask for the sale
Are organised and disciplined with a CRM
Are motivated by targets and commission

Experience in wedding venue sales, bridal, hospitality, events, property or other high-value

consumer sales would be a significant advantage.

Pay & Commission

This role offers a base rate alongside a generous, uncapped sales commission structure.

We believe good salespeople should be well rewarded for results.

The commission structure is designed so that the more weddings you successfully sell, the more you earn.

There is no artificial cap on earning potential.

For someone who can genuinely build relationships, manage a sales pipeline and close weddings, this has the potential to become a highly rewarding additional income stream.

With a beautifully restored 18th-century chapel, ballroom, private courtyard and 38 bedrooms, The Abbey allows couples to bring their entire wedding celebration together in one private venue.
