JOB TITLE: Communities Energy Efficiency Liaison Officer

LOCATION: Kilkenny/Waterford offices. Regular Travel to sites within the region will be required.
CONTRACT TYPE: 2-year Fixed contract with 2-year extension option subject to performance.
WORKING HOURS: Full time – Mon to Friday. 37.5hr/ week standard contract. 24 days annual leave. Occasional evening and/or after-hours work may be required to support operational and project needs.

Person Specification
South East Energy Agency is working with various stakeholders in the domestic, public, private & community sectors to provide independent brokering, technical support and advice. The Communities Liaison Officer is responsible for supporting the activities of Community programmes that will assist in the bottom-up delivery of Climate Actions. This role involves working with beneficiaries and partners across all sectors to ensure a simple and smooth energy retrofit journey from start to finish. The role also includes supporting the development of the Sustainable Energy Communities and Renewable Energy Communities to increase the number of projects being identified and delivered across the South East Region. Working with key stakeholders including the Local Authorities, LEO’s, PPNs, Leadership companies, homeowners , SMEs and other relevant Community Development groups will be a key factor in ensuring multi-disciplinary collaboration across the community sector. The Communities Liaison Officer will work alongside the team of engineers and technical specialists and will have specific responsibility for:
- To act as the primary contact with homeowners and communities looking to deliver energy efficiency projects, managing queries and expression of interests via phone, email or in person
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and ensuring customer satisfaction
- To liaise with the Climate Action Planning and Delivery Teams, ensuring customers flow smoothly through the Development, Planning and Delivery phases of a project
- To liaise with customers, contractors and grant funding bodies (including SEAI) relevant to the delivery of projects
- Work in the Sustainable Energy Communities Programme for the South East Region:
- Support the SEC Regional Coordinator in delivery of all contractual elements of the programme
- Provide communities development and engagement support to the Mentors
- To link with and build relationship with Local Authority Climate and Community Officers, LEADERs, LEO’s PPN’s and other relevant stakeholder groups to share knowledge and best practices, and to ensure consistent messaging across the region
- Represent South East Energy Agency at events and workshops, sharing insights and best practices.
Reporting and Documentation
- Report directly to the Climate Action Development Team Lead, and regularly update on all aspects of the assigned projects, including progress of deliverables and KPIs
- Accurately update and maintain customer records, profiles, and project databases using our ISO90001 and CRM systems
- Regularly update the Climate Action Development Team Lead on all engagement aspects of the Community projects, including progress, deliverables, and resources
- Draft non-technical updates, success stories, and outreach communications in collaboration with the Marketing Team
- Foster and maintain team spirit within the Agency
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Handle day-to-day engagement with customers and communities
- Liaise with Local Authority Climate Officers, community groups, LEADER companies, and other stakeholders
- Maintain strong communication with SECs, SEC Mentor, tracking engagement, progress, and needs
- Collaborate with the Support Office, Communications and Marketing Team, and Technical Team
- Foster and maintain team spirit within the Agency
- Support social media efforts related to Communities Programme activity
- Coordinate and log responses to community inquiries, escalating technical queries as needed
- Maintain lists of grants and funding available to Communities
Quality and Compliance
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System requirements, including performing work according to process documents, procedures, and maintaining necessary records
- Understand and apply quality and environmental policy statements in all aspects of work
- Ensure that the needs and requirements of the company’s customers are understood and delivered
- Enhance the company’s internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates, and improvement ideas
- Continuous improvement on advancements in retrofit materials, methods, and regulations.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Leadership Team, depending on the organisation’s workload

The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent IT & Communication Skills Demonstrated 2+ years’ experience in a similar role (Administration, Communications, Business, Project Management)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience in Grant Management or Business and Marketing
- Excellent communication, writing and networking skills
- Proven experience working on multi- stakeholder projects
- Excellent communication, customer service, writing and networking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Past experience in relation to energy, data, building industry, construction etc is a bonus, but not essential.
- Previous grant management experience or similar, particularly in relation to energy, data, building industry, construction etc.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
