Opportunity summary
Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a paid Digital Content and Social Media Internship within Trinity Sport. This educational internship offers hands on experience in digital media, video production, content creation and social media management.
Working as part of the Trinity Sport Communications team, the successful candidate will create engaging digital content that showcases student sport, fitness, events and the wider Trinity Sport community. The role will involve planning, producing and publishing content across Trinity Sport's digital platforms while supporting communications campaigns and marketing initiatives throughout the academic year.
The internship is for a fixed period of six months, with a review after three months based on progress and performance. Recent graduates and current students are encouraged to apply. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in digital media, communications and content production within one of Ireland's leading university sports programmes.
Principal duties
- Shoot and edit high-quality video content, producing engaging, narrative driven short form content to promote Trinity Sport.
- Collaborate with staff across Trinity Sport to develop creative content for campaigns, events, sports clubs, fitness programmes and student initiatives.
- Plan, create and publish content across Trinity Sport's social media channels, ensuring content is timely, engaging and aligned with the organisation's communications strategy.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of Trinity Sport's social media platforms, including scheduling content, writing captions and engaging with online audiences where appropriate.
- Generate creative content for multiple digital platforms, including social media and the Trinity Sport website.
- Monitor content performance and contribute ideas to increase engagement, audience growth and reach across digital platforms.
- Research emerging social media trends, content formats and platform features to help keep Trinity Sport's digital content fresh and engaging.
- Assist with photography and video coverage at sporting events, competitions and key university activities.
- Support other communications, marketing and media activities as required.
The candidate
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
- A recent graduate, or current student, in Digital Media, Media Production, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of written English.
- Strong understanding and practical experience operating DSLR or mirrorless cameras, audio equipment and portable lighting.
- Experience planning, filming and editing content independently to meet a creative brief.
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with After Effects would be an advantage.
- Experience creating and publishing content across social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook, with an understanding of current trends and platform best practice.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative mindset with a willingness to generate new ideas and contribute to campaigns.
- An interest in sport and student engagement is desirable.
