CREATE YOUR FUTURE
Part-time Special Needs Assistant
Location: Nord Anglia International School Dublin
We’re looking to recruit a Special Needs Assistant on a part-time basis (10am - 2pm Mon - Fri) for our Dublin school, a Nord Anglia Education school.
THE SCHOOL
Nord Anglia International School Dublin is the first and only IB continuum school in Ireland offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The school opened in September 2018 and is now one of the fastest growing Nord Anglia Education schools globally. As the school continues to expand, we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed employees to help us develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed.
We have over 45 nationalities represented in the school community, who thrive academically; are committed to achieving their best and who grow with us as true global citizens through our culture of respect, opportunity and personal development. We also have highly supportive parents who engage fully in the life of the school and their children’s education.
The successful candidates will be effective communicators, who value relationships and will want to participate fully in all aspects of school life. Amongst other things, they will be well organised, have a good sense of humour and enjoy collaborating as a team.
THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Special Needs / Teaching & Learning Assistant to join the Primary teaching team for this challenging adventure.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced candidates. As a qualified Special Needs or Teaching & Learning Assistant (minimum of QQI Level 5) you will be a fluent English speaker, ideally familiar with Primary Years Stage curriculum developments of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and confident working with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. You will be committed to a modern, inquiry-based, student-centred approach to education. You will be an excellent communicator and able to understand and incorporate strategies for effective learning into everyday practice; someone who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom. Experience and/or qualifications in teaching English as a second language would be an advantage.
You will also be able to meet visa and work permit-related restrictions for Ireland.
ABOUT YOU
Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will bring a minimum qualification of QQI Level 5 or 6 in Special Needs or Education and considerable teaching assistant experience to the table. Experience assisting with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) is desirable but not essential.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Ireland.
