Purpose of the Role
The Training and HR Coordinator role is responsible for delivering training and providing HR administrative support across the site. This role combines responsibility for employee training, compliance, and development with a broad HR remit including onboarding, absence management, employee relations, and engagement. The role ensures employees are appropriately trained, supported, and managed in line with company policies, legal requirements, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Development
- Plan, organise, and deliver site training programmes, including induction, manual handling, food safety, and SOP-based training.
- Assess training needs in collaboration with Production Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leaders.
- Design and develop in-house training materials, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Maintain, update, and promote the training system.
- Track and monitor employee training progress, identifying gaps and highlighting issues.
- Maintain training records, matrices, certifications, and attendance logs.
- Coordinate internal and external training
- Prepare training reports and support audits by ensuring training compliance.
- Manage training facilities, materials, and equipment.
- Schedule training sessions to minimise disruption to production.
Absence Management
- Produce and distribute daily absence reports and maintain absence trackers.
- Monitor attendance trends and identify breaches of the absence policy.
- Support absence and minor infraction investigations
- Arrange welfare meetings and manage long-term and short-term absence cases.
- Coordinate occupational health referrals and appointments.
- Ensure return-to-work processes are completed and documented.
- Produce weekly absence KPIs.
Onboarding
- Prepare and post job advertisements, shortlist candidates, and coordinate interviews.
- Participate in interviews and selection processes.
- Prepare contracts and ensure right-to-work compliance.
- Support onboarding, including inductions, system enrolment, and follow-ups.
- Represent the company at career fairs and recruitment events.
Employee Relations and Performance Management
- Assist managers with probationary reviews and performance management processes and provide administrative support regarding employee relations issues issuing
- Issue meeting invites and provide guidance to managers on HR procedures.
Employee Engagement
- Assist with engagement initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintain internal communications (noticeboards, screens, engagement calendar).
- Assist with Employee Forum where necessary
HR Administration and Communication
- HRIS super user on site
- Maintain accurate HR records, databases, and trackers (absence, recruitment, probation, leavers, etc.).
- Act as a point of contact for HR employee queries.
- Generate HR documentation (letters, forms, reports).
- Conduct exit interviews and maintain employee lifecycle documentation.
Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Support a safe and healthy working environment.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar training role (manufacturing environment desirable)
- Experience delivering training and developing training materials
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with training systems desirable
- 3rd level qualification (QQI 6 and above) desirable

Pay: €35,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
