Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused and flexible individual to join our team as an Asbestos Waste Collection Operative and Compound Assistant. Having a CE licence would be very advantageous but not essential.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines professional driving, small-scale asbestos waste collection, limited asbestos removal works, and general maintenance duties within our operational compound.
The successful candidate will hold a full BE driving licence and preferably a full CE driving license. They will be responsible for the safe collection and transportation of asbestos waste, carrying out minor asbestos removal activities when required.
When not engaged in asbestos waste collection duties, the role will involve assisting the Compound Manager with equipment maintenance, vehicle and trailer management, stock control and general yard operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled collections of asbestos waste from domestic, commercial and industrial sites nationwide.
- Ensure all asbestos waste is packaged, labelled, transported and disposed of in accordance with Irish legislation and company procedures.
- Carry out minor asbestos removal works, as part of small domestic collections, such as flue pipes, garden sheds etc.
- Assist the Compound Manager with the daily operation of the company compound.
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and trailers.
- Collect and return company vehicles from service centres, repair facilities and testing stations.
- Assist in stock management and inventory control.
- Monitor equipment levels and report any shortages, defects or maintenance requirements.
- Support general yard operations and undertake additional duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Full Category BE Licence.
- Full Category CE Licence very advantageous but not essential.
- Safepass and Manual Handling.
- Experience working in a practical, hands-on environment.
- Dependable and trustworthy.
- Well organised and self-motivated.
- Ability to carry out basic mechanical repairs and maintenance.
- Flexibility to undertake a varied workload and travel throughout Ireland.
Pay: €20.00-€23.00 per hour
