Full job description

As a Chef at Trough Café, you will play a vital role in creating and delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our customers. Working closely with our team, you will be responsible for crafting delicious and innovative dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for food will contribute to the success of our café.

Responsibilities:

Menu Development that fits with our aesthetic: Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus that reflect our commitment to fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and culinary innovation.
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and daily specials, according to established recipes and standards.
Quality Control: Ensure that all food products meet our quality and safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of food orders, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Satisfaction: Consistently deliver high-quality dishes that exceed customer expectations, and respond promptly and professionally to any feedback or concerns.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards, sanitation practices, and kitchen cleanliness.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Chef in a similar culinary environment, with a strong focus on quality and creativity.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and culinary trends.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor kitchen staff.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
