Charisma Design is looking for a practical, reliable part-time Sign Maker & Installer to help with signage production, finishing, and installation work.
This role would suit someone with experience in signage, vinyl application, print finishing, acrylic fabrication, general workshop production, or someone hands-on with good attention to detail who wants to build skills in the signage trade.
You will help with in-house production and occasional site installations, including 3D lettering, acrylic and Foamex signs, halo-lit signs, window graphics, wall murals, shopfront signage, and projecting/hanging signs.
Main duties include:
- Producing acrylic and Foamex 3D lettering.
- Preparing and fitting halo-lit letters onto trays or Dibond/ACM backing panels.
- Applying vinyl graphics to Foamex, Dibond, acrylic, glass, walls, and other surfaces.
- Print finishing, laminating, trimming, weeding, taping, mounting, and preparing jobs for installation.
- Helping with window graphics, frosted vinyl, printed vinyl, wall murals, and internal branding.
- Assisting with exterior signage installations, including shopfront signs, hanging signs, projecting signs, trays, panels, and 3D letters.
- Preparing LED modules and basic wiring layout for halo-lit letters, under supervision where required.
- Keeping the workshop organised and helping make sure jobs are produced cleanly, accurately, and on time.
Ideal candidate:
- Has previous signage, vinyl, print, joinery, fabrication, fitting, or installation experience.
- Is comfortable using hand tools, measuring, cutting, drilling, fixing, and working with panels and letters.
- Has good attention to detail and understands that small mistakes in signage can become expensive.
- Can work independently once shown the process.
- Is reliable, punctual, tidy, and practical.
- Is comfortable helping on-site with installations.
- Has a full B driving licence.
- Can work flexible part-time hours depending on workload.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling
Useful but not essential:
- Experience with vinyl application.
- Experience installing window graphics or wall murals.
- Experience with acrylic, Foamex, Dibond/ACM, LEDs, or 3D letters.
- Experience using a vinyl cutter, laminator, printer, CNC router, or general workshop equipment.
- IPAF would be an advantage.
