We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join the team.
What you will do?
Bookkeeping & Financial Records Management:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for monthly clients, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses efficiently.
- Perform supplier and bank reconciliations and maintain ledgers in compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure bookkeeping records are finalised and ready for management accounts preparation.
Support Team Workflow Coordination & Quality Control:
- Review and approve bookkeeping work completed by our support team, ensuring that all tasks align with company procedures and deadlines.
- Establish and monitor clear workflows to ensure consistent and efficient task completion in your portfolio
- Track the progress of work to ensure timely delivery of tasks, prioritising based on urgency and complexity.
- Provide detailed feedback on work completed, identifying areas for improvement, consistency, and accuracy.
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure work meets Fitzgerald Power’s standards, providing guidance for improvements where necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and address any bottlenecks or delays in task completion.
- Identify training or development needs to improve overall workflow efficiency and quality.
VAT & Compliance:
- Prepare and submit information for VAT returns accurately and on time.
Process & Efficiency Improvements:
- Work closely with supervisors to streamline bookkeeping workflows, identifying opportunities for automation or process changes to improve productivity.
- Use Karbon and other software tools to track bookkeeping progress, set reminders for key deadlines, and manage workloads effectively.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times.
What you will bring?
Experience: 3+ years in bookkeeping / accounts payable role, preferably in an accountancy practice but not essential.
Qualifications: Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g., IATI, ACCA, ATI) preferred but not essential.
Software Proficiency: Experience with bookkeeping software packages is a plus.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, exceptional quality control skills, and an ability to work in a structured and dynamic workflow environment.
Mindset: Proactive, accountable, and able to collaborate with internal and support teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
