Job Title: Strategic Procurement Buyer
Location: Grannagh, Co. Waterford
Reporting to: Group Strategic Procurement Manager
Contract type: 6 month Fixed term Contract
Role Summary:
We wish to recruit a Strategic Procurement Buyer to join our Group Strategic Procurement team based at our head office in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the team through best-in-class sourcing practices and by adhering to best practice procedures, delivering a quality service, and maximising value for money and cost efficiencies on behalf of the Group.
This is a fixed term contract for a period of 6 months. The Categories of focus are primarily ingredients & other production critical consumables. The candidate will be a resource also across the Services, Packaging and sustainability buying teams.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be based at our Group Offices in Grannagh, Waterford and will support & be responsible for;

Supporting the Group Strategic Procurement Manager and Senior Buyers on behalf of the sites in both Ireland and the UK;

Supporting Cross-functional teams with their project objectives;

Promoting best procurement practices across the Group;

Development sourcing strategies;
-
Development of risk mitigation strategies;
-
Researching and Prequalifying for new suppliers;
-
Researching & Analysing new potential suppliers and projects;
-
Following market trends to identify products which are fit for the purpose;

Reacting to supply chain pressures and ensuring contingencies are implemented in a timely manner

Preparing tender documentation & analysing responses;
-
Negotiating prices with suppliers;
-
Involved in writing up contracts & terms of sale;
-
Managing supplier relationships;
-
Problem Solving disputes and claims with suppliers;
-
Keep approved supplier product programs up to date;

Preparing reports & reporting to Senior Managers & Executives;

Project Deployment & Managing Change;

Project Managing Categories;
-
Crisis Management Unexpected Events;

Experience:
- IT proficient to an advanced standard in Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft Excel;

Relevant 3rd level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business is desirable.
