Full job description

Wallace’s SuperValu is currently seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Butcher to join our busy Fresh Food team in our Wellingtonbridge store. This is a fixed-term contract for 5 months to provide leave cover. The successful candidate will work 3 days per week on a rostered basis, Monday to Sunday. Applicants must be aged 18 years or over.

Main Purpose of the Role

To ensure the Meat Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times while delivering excellent quality products and outstanding customer service.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A butchery qualification/course
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Previous retail or customer service experience
The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
The ability to multitask and work well under pressure
A passion for food and delivering an excellent shopping experience
HACCP training

Main Duties:

Demonstrate and promote SuperValu brand values: Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative
Prepare and maintain retail meat cuts to a high standard in line with customer needs
Drive sales through excellent merchandising and adherence to store standards and SOPs
Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard
