Role Summary:
As the Night Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team and ensuring the smooth operations of our evening/night shift. With your exceptional leadership skills, keen attention to detail, and strong numeracy abilities, you will coordinate the activities necessary to produce safe and high-quality products within designated quantities and deadlines. Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment will be paramount, as you oversee the wrapping, packing, and dispatch of our products according to quality specifications.
Usual hours on the nightshift are between 6pm -2am. Times vary depending on weekly and daily workload demand.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the operation of wrapping machinery and ensure the seamless running of the shift and the machinery
2. Collaborate with the Production, Sales, Quality, and Management teams to optimise the efficiency of the dispatch department.
3. Manage weekly rosters and be point of contact for direct reports. Elevate any staff issues to the Operations Manager and contribute to shift level HR duties including addressing time-keeping, absences and disciplinary issues.
4. Manage stock levels to avoid stock outs and adherence to FIFO (First In First Out) rules.
5. Implement and uphold strict hygiene and housekeeping standards, ensuring compliance with relevant food safety regulations (BRC).
6. Manage and enforce company Health & Safety procedures and waste control measures.
7. Generate regular reports as needed on a daily/weekly basis.
8. Assist with employee training and development, addressing any staff-related issues that may arise.
9. Chair monthly departmental meetings and actively participate in weekly Operations meetings.
10. Support, engage, and contribute to relevant company projects.
11. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and motivates staff to consistently produce quality products.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in leading a team, adhering to company policies, including Hygiene, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and HR protocols.
2. Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Excellent communication, people management, and IT skills.
4. Proficient on Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
5. Logical and organised approach to work, with strong time management abilities.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
7. Effective motivator and team leader.
8. Results-oriented mindset, driving productivity and efficiency.
9. Knowledge of HACCP and BRC regulations.
10. 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
11. Strong numeracy skills.
