Junior Personal Trainer / Coach – Empower Fitness
Location: Oranmore, Galway
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About Empower Fitness
At Empower Fitness, we help women build strength, confidence and lasting lifestyle change.
We are not a typical commercial gym. We provide small-group personal training in a supportive, welcoming environment where every member receives individual coaching and attention.
Our sessions combine structured strength training, encouragement and accountability to help women feel stronger, move better and become more confident both inside and outside the gym.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Junior Personal Trainer / Coach to join our growing team in Oranmore.
This role is ideal for someone who has recently qualified, is early in their coaching career or wants to develop their skills within a supportive and professional coaching team.
The Role
Your main responsibility will be coaching our members during small-group personal training sessions.
You will work alongside experienced coaches and receive structured support as you learn the Empower Fitness coaching system.
You will not be expected to arrive knowing everything. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong people skills and a genuine desire to become an excellent coach.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching members during small-group personal training sessions, with a maximum ratio of 12 members to one coach
- Demonstrating exercises clearly and helping members use safe and effective technique
- Providing individual exercise adjustments where required
- Encouraging members and creating a positive atmosphere during every session
- Getting to know our members and helping them feel comfortable, supported and included
- Preparing the training area and equipment before sessions
- Recording relevant member notes and session information
- Supporting the wider coaching team with the day-to-day running of the studio
- Taking part in team training, mentoring and ongoing coach development
The majority of your working time will be spent coaching members on the gym floor.
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit for this role if you:
- Hold a recognised Personal Training qualification, such as EQF Level 3 or Level 4, or an equivalent qualification
- Enjoy working with people and helping them succeed
- Are friendly, approachable and confident communicating with different personalities
- Are reliable, organised and punctual
- Are enthusiastic about strength training and improving your coaching skills
- Are comfortable receiving feedback and learning from more experienced coaches
- Care about providing a great experience, not simply delivering a workout
- Want to build a long-term career in the fitness industry
Previous experience coaching individuals or small groups would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
We are open to applications from newly qualified coaches who demonstrate the right attitude, personality and willingness to learn.

We help women recognise what they are capable of, one rep, one habit and one win at a time.

Growth
We expect our coaches to continue learning, developing and improving.
Support

Training and Development
We understand that becoming a confident coach takes time and experience.
You will receive:

- In-house education and team development sessions
- Opportunities to progress within Empower Fitness as your experience grows
This is an opportunity to develop your craft in a supportive environment where you will be encouraged to learn and improve.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our studio in Oranmore, Galway.
