About the Role:
Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the heart of our kitchen operations. As a Section Leader, you'll be entrusted with the exciting task of overseeing a specific culinary section, guaranteeing impeccable food standards, and fostering a culture of excellence. Your role involves bringing the Head Chef's creative vision to life, while also engaging in ongoing team training to elevate skills and expertise. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in upholding stringent health and safety protocols, ensuring operational efficiency, and contributing innovative ideas to menu development and promotional activities. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to our company's success, all while indulging your passion for culinary excellence in a vibrant and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Menu Planning & Development
- Maintain elevated standards in food preparation, offering guidance on correct cooking techniques and presentation, all while adhering to prescribed recipes and portion control parameters.
- Continuous Improvement and Training
- Engage in quality improvement projects and attend relevant training courses.
- Actively participate in sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives.
- Contribute to fostering a motivating environment, enhancing revenue generation and cost savings within the culinary area.
- Stay informed about food trends and participate in cross-marketing strategies.
- Ensure hygiene and food safety standards.
- Team collaboration, supporting leadership, motivation, and development of the kitchen team.
- Assist in workforce planning and contribute to talent development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant Culinary Qualification.
- 2+ years experience in a busy 4/5* hotel kitchen.
- 5+ years' overall kitchen experience.
- Experience in relevant software (Tablepaths, Hotsoft, Volante, ProcureWizard, etc.) advantageous
- Attention to detail with a commitment to culinary excellence and customer experience.
- Effective communication skills – fluent written and spoken English
- Passion for sustainable practices and waste reduction.
- Positive disposition with an ability to remain calm under pressure
