The Role:
The Purchasing Administrator is responsible for sourcing and purchasing stock to ensure efficient operations and value for money. The role involves strategic supplier management, market research, negotiation and supporting business objectives through effective procurement processes. The Purchasing Administrator will manage procurement activities, build supplier relationships and ensure continuity of supply for core business operations. Reporting to the Director, the Purchasing Administrator leverages market skills to optimise cost, quality and delivery performance.
Responsibilities:
· Negotiate prices, terms and delivery conditions with suppliers to optimise purchasing outcomes
· Ordering stock and issuing purchase orders to suppliers
· Arrange transport of goods in where necessary
· Conduct market research to identify and source quality suppliers
· Be the point of contact for suppliers wanting to sell us new products
· Develop and maximise the use of internal software systems and look for opportunities to further develop software to the benefit of the purchasing department
· Maintain constant communication with warehousing to ensure delivery discrepancies/damages are dealt with in a timely manner
· Manage stock transfers between our different stock locations
· Prepare various reports

Qualifications:
· Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a procurement or buying capacity ideally in a fast-paced environment.
· Recognised qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting or a related field
· Proficient in Microsoft office applications
· Understanding of supply chain management and inventory control processes
· Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to independently prioritise workload
